Skin Care in Ayurveda

Tuesday, November 27th, 2007

By Awinita Smith Skin is the seat of a sense organ. The senses of touch, temperature, pain, pressure are felt by it. A healthy skin always looks attractive even when devoid of make up. The first step in the holistic ayurvedic approach to skin care is finding out your ayurvedic skin type. Vata skin is in generally dry, thin, delicate and cool to the touch, easily gets dehydrated, and is very vulnerable to the influence of dry windy weather. Vata skin may age faster, and tends to be dry, rough and flaky when out of balance. Pitta skin type tends to be fair, sensitive, soft, warm, and of medium thickness. Less tolerance to hot food, less tolerance to fieriness in temperament. Pitta skin types tend to be more prone to freckles and moles than the other skin types. When out of balance, Pitta skin can flare up in rashes, rosacea, acne, or sunspots. Kapha skin tends to have all the qualities of water and earth — it can be oily, thick, pale, soft, cool and more tolerant of the sun. Kapha skin tends to age slower and form less wrinkles than the other two types. Kapha skin types may struggle with dull complexion, enlarged pores, excessive oil, blackheads, and pimples, moist types of eczema and water retention. “Combination” skin can be Vata-Pitta, skin that is both dry and sensitive, Kapha-Pitta-skin is oily and sensitive, and Vata-Kapha- skin that is generally dry with some oily zones. Skin Care tips for your ayurvedic skin type Vata Skin Care For Vata skin to stay youthful, skin care products used should be very nurturing. They must include some essential oils or herbs in combination, which can nourish the skin and rehydrate it; otherwise it may be susceptible to wrinkles and premature aging. Going to bed on time, eating regular meals, and following a regular daily routine are essential components of a holistic approach to Vata skin care, as are eating foods that help balance Vata and nourish the Vata skin. Pitta Skin Care The Pitta skin type needs both cooling and nurturing. Use skin care products that help enhance resistance to the sun. Avoid tanning treatments and therapies that expose your delicate, sensitive skin to steam for extended periods of time. The ayurvedic herb Flame of Forest can help protect Pitta skin from photosensitivity. But like other ayurvedic herbs, it needs to be used in combination with other herbs for a balanced effect on the skin. Kapha Skin Care “Kapha skin, because of its thickness and oiliness, is more prone to accumulate ama — toxins under the skin. People with Kapha skin need to do detoxification on a regular basis, both internal detoxification and external detoxification to flush toxins from the skin,” says Mishra. Scrubbing the skin with gentle exfoliating clay can help external cleansing. Kapha skin types may also need to take herbal formulations to cleanse the skin from within. What Do Women Really Want?

Monday, November 26th, 2007

By Rod Cortez A common question men ask is what do women really want? They seem to say things like “I want a nice guy” and thenthey end up dating a complete jerk. If they don’t go outwith a jerk then they go out with the “bad boy”. When a man asks me that question, I ask them why do they feelcompelled to have an answer to that? Before a man can answer that question he first needs tobe able to answer “what do I want in a woman?” Every manhas a different set of beliefs, values, and preferencesand he should really put some thought on how importantthey are to him. Using myself as an example, I’m at apoint in my life where I don’t want to be in a relationship. So the #1 value I’m looking for in a woman right now isthat she has to be fun and easy-going. Someone else mightbe looking for a woman that places higher value on thingslike family, communication, finances, etc. Once a man has figured out what he really wants in awoman, then it makes it much easier for him to screenout the women that does not fit his criteria and he focushis time and energy on the ones that do. So we come full circle and get back to the common question that menask me and that is “what do women really want?”. Every woman is unique and different, but over the yearsI’ve noticed some commonalities that they share. We areassuming that we are also talking about emotionally healthy women that are not dealing with a lot of personalissues. Here are some of the common things that women want? 1. Women want a man with a spine - A very common complaintI hear from women around the world is that it’s hard tofind a real man. What does that mean anyway? They arelooking for a man who has his own opinion, who is notafraid to disagree with her, and a man who will stand upfor himself and for her. 2. Women want a man with leadership skills - Whether it’sgoing out for a night out on the town or in the bedroom,a woman wants a man who is not afraid to be the Alpha Male. He’s not afraid to lead. This does not mean that he actscontrolling or jealous. On the contrary, a man who iseither a natural leader or has honed his leadership skillsbecause he has dated a lot of women, will know when andhow to lead. A great way of leading is to give your date2 to 3 options on what to do for that coming weekend andthen letting her decide. For the first date, you shoulddo what you like because this will help you screen her tosee if she likes doing what you like to do. 3. Women want a man, not a boy - An attractive woman whois healthy and well-balanced does not want to date a boy.She wants a man who has his own life, has goals, andambition. He doesn’t live with his parents, he has his own place, and does not have financial problems. 4. When she’s ready she will want a man who can commit -When a woman begins developing feelings for you, she will let you know it. She will start talking about thefuture, either directly or indirectly. She might startsaying things like “wouldn’t our kids be cute?” or “wouldn’t it be cool if we went to Hawaii next summer?”.When a woman makes foward-looking statements that hintabout the future, then it’s a huge sign that she wantsto take things to the next level. Sure, some womencasually date, but ultimately most women eventually want to settle down with someone. It’s up to you topay attention and listen to what she’s really saying toyou. 5. Women want a man with a healthy self image and style -Ever had an old girlfriend nag at you because you worethe same stupid baseball cap? Or maybe because you needed to trim those eyebrows of yours? Ever go to theshopping mall with a woman and she starts suggestingon what things you should wear? Attractive women want a man with style. It’s obvious that women don’tlike slobs. Most men don’t have a good sense of stylewhich is why they should recruit a female friend orrelative to go shopping with them. If that’s notpossible, simply going to a shopping mall and lookingfor the most attractive female clerk to help you cando the trick. Having style isn’t enough. You should also have a positive outlook toward life and your future. Womenfind that very attractive. No one likes a whiner ora complainer, so if you have a tendency to be negativeyou really should make an effort to get that handled.Otherwise you might look back a few years from nowand ask the same question “what do women really want?” Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Rod_Cortez http://EzineArticles.com/?What-Do-Women-Really-Want?&id=349714 online tramadol pharmacy order generic ultram buy fast shipping ultram prescription medications ultram check

Happiness Myths

Saturday, November 24th, 2007

By Don Diebel There’s a myth that a lot of guys fall for that causes a lot of undue stress and anxiety. It’s the myth that if only I could find a girlfriend I will be happy. Don’t fall for this guys! Guess who is responsible for your happiness? You are. You must learn to be happy and contented with yourself. You are the only one who can make you happy. You just can’t expect women that you become involved with, to be responsible for your happiness. It’s really sad that a lot of men live in misery, thinking that they will be so happy when a woman comes into their life to make them happy. Trust me, you can be happy while you are waiting for that special to come into your life. And, if you find the right woman, she will add to that happiness. Well, I hope you get my point. Don’t spend your life waiting around for someone to come into your life to make you happy. Make yourself happy and don’t depend on others to do this. And remember, “happiness comes from within.” Unique Way to Meet Single Women To pull this off, buy you a bag of Hershey’s Kisses. Then when you see a girl you are attracted to, approach her and have a hidden kiss in your hand, and say this, “Would you mind if I give you a kiss?” Of course, she is going to be a little startled or reluctant to answer. Then you hold out your hand and say, “Here’s the kiss I wanted to give you.” This is a good tactic for you to break the ice with a stranger. She will think that your technique to meet her is unique. Plus, you both can have a good laugh over it. Try this guys, you’d be surprised how well it can work for you. This article written by Don Diebel (Americas #1 Singles Expert). Saturday, November 24th, 2007

By Kenneth Langlet Many people seem to dread the day that they hear they need to have a colon cleanse for their body. In reality there are times that you are going to need to have a colon cleanse done so that you are able to stay healthy for a longer time. This is all possible because when you are getting the colon cleanse you are getting rid of all the toxins that are in your system. You do not want to turn up your nose when the word colon cleansing is said around you. When you do go to have a colon cleanse you will see that it is a disgusting job that needs to done so that you are able to live a more natural life without much pain. If you see that you are having more pain in your stomach than you used to a while ago then you are going to want to talk to your doctor about a colon cleanse to help with the stomach pain you are having. This could happen because of all the toxins that you are getting in your system from the food that you eat. There are times that it will happen because of the air that you are breathing every day as well. If you were to think about all the different things that you might be taking in on a daily basis you may want to think about having a colon cleansing done so that you can get rid of all the different toxins that you are taking in. If you see that you even have a lot of gas as well, stomach pain that too is a good idea to talk to your doctor about a colon cleansing. Then you will be sure to make sure that you are getting all the toxins out of your system before they do more damage than what has already been done. The worse thing that you can do is not to have a colon cleansing done when your doctor wants you to have one. They are going to want to just make sure that you are going to be able to live a healthy life with out all the different toxins in your body. If you find that you are having any kind of problems with your stomach and gas, as well, you will want to make sure that you are talking to your doctor about all the different problems that you are having and what can be done for it. When you are having a colon cleansing done, you will know that you are taking care of yourself the way that you should be so that you are going to have a healthy life for as long as you can. How to Get What You Want Before Talking to a Woman

Thursday, November 22nd, 2007

By Scott Patterson One of the principles behind goal setting is to know what you want before you work towards it. Once you’ve establish a clear outcome of what you’re working towards, it becomes much easier to achieve! The same could be said about meeting women! If you have a clear idea of what you want from a woman, then you can increase your chances of getting it! This means you should mentally create a picture of what you’re trying to get before you engage a woman in a conversation. When you imagine a clear picture of your outcomes, you can steer the conversation towards what you’re trying to achieve. Beforehand, you should ask yourself: Do I want to sleep with her tonight? Am I going for her number? Do I want her as a girlfriend? Am I interested in establishing a long-term relationship? Should I try to set up a date? By knowing your goal for each conversation, you can adjust the way you talk to her. For instance if you’re trying to have sex with her that night, then you would focus on flirting and bringing sexual innuendo into the conversation. On the other hand, if you want a girlfriend then you should demonstrate the characteristics of someone a woman would want to date. You would be interesting and fun to be with, while displaying the qualities of a desirable boyfriend. Establishing a goal for each conversation makes it easier to define what you want and how to get it. If you think of an outcome beforehand and steer the conversation towards getting it, you’ll find it’s much easier to achieve your dating goals. Want to learn 50 different ways to meet, approach and attract women? If so, take a look at Scott Patterson’s Free eBook which provides 50 tips for approaching, attracting, and dating ANY woman. In Search of the Huckleberry Fish of Africa

Wednesday, November 21st, 2007

By A.J. Klott I saw a recent article announcing that Canadian scientists will soon begin searching Lake Simcoe in the province of Ontario for a “lake monster” named Igopogo. Much like the Loch ness monster, Bigfoot,Ogopogo, and the Abominable snowman, Igopogo has never been verified to actually exist beyond the random sightings of residents, boaters and –of course– some fishermen. Indian legend handed down from the early nineteenth century, and some sightings in the 1950’s and 60’s have helped to fuel the speculation that a serpent like animal lives beneath the lake surface. Sonar and shaky Bigfoot like videotape have also given more added “proof” that Igopogo exists. In August of this year, evidently a study funded by Discovery Canada science program, was to search the depths of Kempenfelt bay with sonar and underwater cameras searching for Igopogo, hoping to find the “dog like, horse faced, stovepipe necked, impish looking ,fishlike serpent”….. No word yet as to the findings, but Toronto’s Molson ale plant is also being investigated for exceeding the seven percent alcohol content restriction for their beer. It of course only figures that fishermen have been responsible for a number of these sightings, as we all know that bobbing about in the waters of a lake with copious amounts of adult beverages on board your vessel, (especially Canadian beverages) will most assuredly induce sightings of many mythical creatures, some folks even claim to have seen God. But that’s another story. I myself, never being one to scoff at or be a naysayer to the mysterious, am here today to announce the finding of another mysterious and legendary creature. The Huckleberry fish. Now, before you get on your search engine and start your quest for this heretofore elusive fish, let me explain a little about the discoverer of this rare specie. My five year old daughter. Again, not to dispell the validity of her findings, but simply to inform the public I will give you her official “press release”. According to the” my little toot” science program, the Huckleberry fish has been spotted in…someplace in Africa and resides in several lakes and rivers that flow through… oh…. let’s say Botswana…. It is a purplish fish that gets it’s color and flavor(evidently it is not catch and release) from the famed African Huckleberry. The “my little toot” science program hopes to use government grants, unused milk money, and any lottery winnings to help fund her research in Africa to prove that the Huckleberry fish exists. Her assistant and chief fish biologist,”dad” is expected to go along on the “investigation”, since he has a highly qualified propensity to fish aimlessly for hours, enjoys eating Huckleberries, and has been seen quaffing a few Molsons down from time to time. I can assure you, that in her mind the Huckleberry fish exists and I am equally sure that it most certainly has nothing to do with the fact that she knows how much her dad likes fishing and huckleberry picking. Either that or her kindergarten class has now been officially sponsored by the Molson brewing company. Anyway, she informed me of this discovery just the other night and described the Huckleberry fish in depth, so I know it is real. Nothing was mentioned about an “impish smile” though. If you would like to fund the “my little toot” science program, be sure to send your lotto winnings, but please—no scratch offs, because that will only delay our research!! In the meantime, we will be continuing our research of Bigfoot, since we had a recent sighting while investigating the Applegate Bigfoot trap here in Oregon. We also found a bunch of empty Molson bottles—what a coincidence!!!! A.J. KlottAuthor, writer of fishing humor, and “fly tack” peddler.A.J. writes about the people, characters and modern day events that surround the fishing world. Marketing Through Associations

Sunday, November 18th, 2007

By Jeffrey Dobkin 2004 Jeffrey Dobkin If youre in direct marketing, youre continually looking for new list sources everybodys tired of mailing to the same lists. If youre not in direct marketing and thinking about putting a mailing together, heres something a little different: take a look at marketing through associations. Why would anyone ever market to associations? Theyre great targets: try sending a press release to an associations publication - whether its a newsletter or a magazine. Why, you can alert an entire industry of your products or services with one or two well-placed news releases. Since the magazines and newsletters of associations are not the mainstream prospecting tools of most marketers who market through more traditional channels association publications receive just a fraction of the press releases and promotional articles that go to major publishers. Yet the comprehensive lists of over 23,000 associations go astonishingly deep in most major and minor markets. In addition, association publications are usually well regarded and lend excellent credibility to the firms that get ink in their house publications. Why else would you market through associations? Maybe youre an affinity marketer - and youd like to have the 96,000 members of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association apply for the special trial rate of your new credit card. Or, maybe youd like the National Electrical Contractors Association - with 80 people on staff, and a budget of $10 to $25 million to support their 4,000 member firms that comprise 118 local chapters (along with the entire personnel of each member firm) - to apply for your new phone service. Associations can deliver thousands of their members - new customers for you - with a just a few contacts and a modest budget. Youd definitely market through associations if youre part of the hospitality industry and would like to arrange a convention - complete with hotel rooms, ballrooms, and services for the complete screaming regime of whoever shows up - of the 2,300,000 members of the National Education Association of the United States. Or go for a smaller piece of their $100,000,000 budget - give or take a few million - get hired as a speaker or on-site entertainment, or snag some of the the associations printing business. Association lists work for all the above. Associations are key targets for the entire hospitality industry sales force: hotels, convention space, caterers, promotional products, printed material, ballrooms, ground services, and on-site entertainment, to name a few. Quite frankly, I realize the big organizations are not for everyone. Not everyone is looking for the big numbers, even in lists. Some people are just looking for a short cut - an entry wedge into an industry at the top level. For this purpose, association lists are also useful in marketing to the elite leaders of select industries. For example: If you wanted to get in bed with all of the 53 companies who belong to the Biscuit and Cracker Distributors Association, a reference book showing detailed information about their association may be just your cup of tea. Youll find their address - along with their association size, annual budget, history, newsletter and publication detail, meeting and convention dates, website, email address, and their executive directors name - on page 179 of the National Trade and Professional Associations of the United States directory. The 828-page National Trade and Professional Associations of the United States ($99) reference tool lists 7,600 associations, and is published annually by Columbia Books, Inc. (www.columbiabooks.com; 888-265-0600, fax 410-810-0911) along with its companion, the State and Regional Associations of the U.S. directory ($79). The state and regional association guide is particularly useful if you are targeting specific geographic areas and want access to top local association contacts not included in the national book. The State and Regional Associations of the U.S. directory also has a higher percentage of association managers who, while managing multiple associations, cross many industry lines when sourcing vendors or affinity marketers. Information in both Columbia Books directories is cross-referenced by association index, subject index (500 subjects/alpha), also by budget index, geographic index, executive index, and acronym name index. Association management companies are also shown. All of their data is available on disk. These two reference tools fit in your briefcase, and make surprisingly great reading, if - like me - youre a marketer and have no other life outside of marketing and occasionally watching cat-dog on TV (ask your kids!). Association lists and data are also available in the Encyclopedia of Associations by The Gale Group (800-877-GALE) on disk, CD, and on-line through Lexis-Nexis. This hardbound, three-volume set ($505) is the motherload of associations - showing detailed information on more than 23,000 local, state, national, and international associations. Gale says that seven out of every ten Americans belong to an association, and now I believe it: they all show up here in this extensive directory set. Referenced and cross-referenced in every which-way possible, you can reach the 30,000 members of Retinitis Pigmentosa International, the 200 members of the 1954 Buick Skylark Club, the 20 members of the Vacuum Cleaner Manufacturers Association (VCMA), or the 10 members of the Holy Innocents Reparation Committee with equal ease. Another great resource of associations is The Associations Yellow Book from Leadership Directories. While it doesnt have the number of associations found in Gales Encyclopedia of Associations, it has an exceptional depth of information about the top thousand or so associations, arranged and presented in an attractive and logical manner. So if youre looking for the top players in the association field, this resource tool may be just what your doctor ordered. The Associations Yellow Book is 1,400 plus pages, and profiles 1,045 of the leading U.S. trade and professional associations. Included within these profiles are 42,159 officers, staff and board members, 263 political action committees, 437 foundations, and 725 branch offices. 1,036 associations with Internet sites are included. To be listed in The Associations Yellow Book, associations must operate on a national level and have annual operating budgets of at least $2 million. Each listing is broken down into 10 logical sections: 1. Name and communications information 2. Description (association mission, number of members, number of full-time employees, operating budget) 3. Chief Staff Executive - which uniquely enough provides a photo of the executive director printed in the directory along with his or her background information 4.Officers and Management - including direct-dial phone and fax numbers and e-mail addresses 5. Government affairs office and phone 6. Committees 7.Foundations - research, education, fundraising and contacts 8. Branches 9.Publications including editors, frequency, and content 10. Board 11.Meetings - conferences, seminars, dates and locations and 12. Mailing list availability and contact. The listings in The Associations Yellow Book are supplemented by eight indexes: Industry; Geographicalalphabetically by state; Budgetalphabetically within five budget classifications; Political Action Committee; Foundation; Personnelall names are listed alphabetically; Acronym; and Master Index of Associations. One of the most outstanding features of this easy to use directory is the quality and depth of information about each association. For example: the full page and one-quarter listing for the International Association for Management Education shows not only the 18 officers and management personnel with their individual direct dial phone numbers and extensions, their affiliations, education and email addresses, but the listing also contains the names and affiliation of each of their 23 board members. Even the receptionist gets her name mentioned with her phone number. So if youre looking for the person who just handles the conventions, or the publications, you can write or call directly to him. The clean layout and extensive coverage in each listing (plus all those photos that we think are a nice visual touch) make this excellent reference tool one of the favorites around our offices. I can assure you its heavily used, and we recommend it. The Associations Yellow Book is available from Leadership Directories, Inc., 104 Fifth Avenue, New York, NY. 10011; Telephone 212/627-4140, Fax 212/645-0931; web address: www.leadershipdirectories.com. Published semi-annually, the subscription cost is $245 for two issues. Additional subscriptions to the same address are $172. Subscriptions include access to their Internet association database which is updated daily. Marketing to - or through - associations may turn out to be a key component of your campaign; dont overlook these great resources for their membership lists or for opportunities for joint ventures in affinity marketing. Association directors represent key players who are in charge and in tune with virtually any industry, so they make great resources if you need information. Sometimes mailing or faxing a few simple questions to an association headquarters may produce more information faster than an entire year of researching books or reading trade periodicals. The foremost goal of most associations is to educate their members - might as well have them educate their members about your products and services. ### Bio Jeffrey Dobkin is the author of the incredible 400-page marketing manual How To Market a Product for Under $500 ($29.95 +$4). By Bette Daoust, Ph.D. We have said it before; if you volunteer to do something make sure you do it. The same is true of being dependable for showing up when you have agreed to be at a specific location. Can you imagine having a group of volunteers agreeing to cook a meal for the elderly and the crew does not show up? I have been to events where people have had to scramble to fill a crucial spot at an event by doing more than one job. Do not be that person that is deemed unreliable for being on time and in place as agreed. The best way to make sure you are reliable is to confirm the day before the event about what your duties will be and where and when you will be meeting. Many people forget to do the confirmation and find that their job, time and location have been changed. You may be thinking that the organization should be communicating the changes but often this falls through the cracks and some unsuspecting volunteer gets lost in the process. If you are always there on time you will gain a reputation of being dependable. Those around you will know that they can rely on you to get things done. It will free them up to accomplish other tasks. If you have ever helped set-up an event such as a seminar, you will know how much work happens behind the scenes. When you take the seminar, it always looks seamless. In reality its those who volunteer to do the work that knows what is missing. The number of errors or mishaps can be minimized if everyone who volunteers actually shows up and does their job. Do not be the person that does not show up without letting someone know there is a problem. Be reliable and let others be confident in the fact that you will be there when you say you will be there.
